Book Review "The Power of Habit" (Chapter 1 & 2)
Welcome to my blog..
In my post this time, I will review some of the chapters contained in the book The Power of Habit. I hope this book review can provide new knowledge and benefits.
Happy reading.
Chapter 1 : The Habit Loop
Charles Duhigg explains the three stages are repeated as a round that is habit-forming. The first is cue, a trigger that tells Your brain to go into automatic mode and habits of which one to use. The second is routine, the act of pushing with indifferent, can be physical and mental or emotional. The third is reward, a hope that helps your brain to determine whether the circle of this special need in mind for the future. The cue and reward are intertwined so that it appears the sense of anticipation and a strong desire. Finally, the arising of a habit.
When a habit emerges, the brain can stop participating fully in decision-making. Stop working so hard, or change focus to another task. So, if you deliberately fight a habit unless you find new routines, the pattern will unfold automatically. Habits never really disappear. They are encoded in our brain structure. If we learn to create new routines that address that behavior, and we can control the circle of habits, chances are we can issue a bad trend.
Chapter 2 : The Craving Brain
Desire is something that can make cues and gifts work.
Things to do to make a new habit:
1. Find simple and clear cues
2. Determine clearly the benefits.
Habits create neurological desires. When we connect cues with certain rewards, subconscious desires cross our brain to start a circle of habitual spinning.
How to create a new habit: collect the cue, routine, and reward, then increase the desire to encourage repetition. The cue and reward for yourself is not enough to make a new habit last longer. When Your brain starts expecting the reward, the desire to feel the achievement will become strong automatically. Therefore, the expectation of reward must be large enough to encourage you to take action when the cue is presented.
Cues can indeed trigger routine, but it also must trigger the desire for a gift that will come.
Thanks for reading...
